Engraving with Fonts in PartMaker
PartMaker has the ability to use fonts when engraving. Note that most fonts are block letters and are not what you would prefer to machine with. Stick fonts are the most effective for machining.
To install new fonts locate on your computer the directory that your fonts are stored and add them so that them will be available in PartMaker Notes.
To use these fonts when engraving first setup your group as you would normally would to engrave.
To create the machining profiles in CAD create a note of the text you would like to engrave on the part.
Select User Defined Font and choose the single line font that you would like to engrave.
Position the note to where it will be machined. With the note selected then convert the note into profiles
When you switch back to CAM you will see the toolpath profiles
You can further adjust the size and position of the text by using the Transform tools in PartMaker. The profiles must be selected to make these functions available.
