Error:
FeatureCAM reports the error "Profile curve must lie in XY plane" when attempting to create a feature.
Cause of error:
The error occurs when the curve used to create a feature is not planar. This means the curve is not "flat" in the XY plane.
Solution suggestion:
Create a planar curve from the non-planar curve by projecting to UCS.
- Curve Wizard
- Curve from curve
- Project to UCS
- Give the new curve a name
- Select the curve to project
- Select the UCS to project to
- Select the plane to project to
- Finish
