Error "Profile curve must lie in XY plane." when attempting to apply a curve in a feature

Error:

FeatureCAM reports the error "Profile curve must lie in XY plane" when attempting to create a feature.

Cause of error:

The error occurs when the curve used to create a feature is not planar. This means the curve is not "flat" in the XY plane. 

Solution suggestion:

Create a planar curve from the non-planar curve by projecting to UCS.
 

1. Curve Wizard
2. Curve from curve
3. Project to UCS
4. Give the new curve a name
5. Select the curve to project
6. Select the UCS to project to
7. Select the plane to project to
8. Finish
